Après Plastic Surgery in Portland, OR is led by board-certified Portland plastic surgeon Dr. Aric Aghayan. With extensive training and experience, Dr. Aghayan performs plastic surgery procedures to rejuvenate and enhance the face and body. Dr. Aghayan is supported by a dedicated staff of nurses and aestheticians, each with many years of training and experience in cosmetic treatments. Together, Dr. Aghayan and his team perform surgical consultations, minor procedures, and cosmetic treatments at a state-of-the-art facility.

Dr Aric

Meet Dr. Aghayan

Dr. Aghayan completed his formal education at the University of Missouri and an eight-year general and plastic surgery training program at Oregon Health & Science University. In addition to his medical internships and residencies, Dr. Aghayan spent many years as a medical officer in the Navy.

These years of training and experience allow Dr. Aghayan to seamlessly blend science and art for beautiful, natural-looking results, whether he is performing cosmetic surgery procedures like breast augmentation, liposuction, or tummy tuck, or a nonsurgical aesthetic treatment. Outside of work, Dr. Aghayan spends as much time as possible with his family, whether they are playing snow sports, enjoying outdoor activities in beautiful Oregon, or traveling to new places.

Dr. Aghayan earned both his undergraduate and medical doctorate degrees from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He then completed an internship in general surgery at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He spent the next three years as a medical officer in the Navy before performing a second internship in general surgery at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland. He completed his formal training with a residency in general surgery, followed by a second residency in plastic surgery at OHSU. To further his knowledge of cosmetic procedures, Dr. Aghayan attends professional education seminars, like those offered at the Advanced Body Sculpting Institute.

Education and Training

Military Service

Dr. Aghayan is proud to have served as a general medical officer in the United States Navy after his time in medical school. He worked as an assistant battalion surgeon in Iraq and then as a battalion surgeon in Afghanistan. During his time in the Navy, Dr. Aghayan earned the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and a Combat Action Ribbon. His training and experience in the military have helped him understand the importance of reconstructive and plastic surgery in repairing not only the physical function of the body but also restoring the confidence of wounded soldiers.

Medical Privileges

While Dr. Aghayan also offers many nonsurgical procedures that can be performed in his office, he performs plastic surgery requiring general anesthesia in the safety of accredited hospitals and surgical facilities. For his patients’ convenience, he has full medical privileges at multiple locations in the Portland area — East Portland Surgery Center and Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

With over 15 years of experience in nursing, Samantha has dedicated the last seven years to the plastic surgery field, collaborating closely with Dr. Aghayan for six of those years. Over the past 3.5 years, she has played a pivotal role in the development of Après Plastic Surgery. Samantha finds immense joy and fulfillment in assisting patients through their surgical journeys, ensuring their comfort and well-being every step of the way.

Beyond her medical career, Samantha finds joy in outdoor adventures, including ski climbing, snowboarding, hiking, wake surfing, and SCUBA diving. Her passion for exploration extends to her family life as well, as she is blessed with three boys who share her love for adventure and traveling.

Joanna

Joanna

With over 20 years of experience managing small businesses, Joanna has honed her skills and knowledge to empower entrepreneurs to realize their dreams and achieve their goals. She graduated with honors from Portland State University with a degree in business management. Joanna’s passion lies in leveraging her skills and knowledge to empower others to reach their full potential.

Outside her professional endeavors, Joanna loves to travel and explore new destinations. As a car enthusiast, she indulges her passion by attending car shows and embarking on road trips, often including her children in these experiences to broaden their horizons.

Joanna is also a proud cat mom to three feline companions: Maserati, Jasmine, and Bentley. Bentley is her prized MaineCoon, who should have his own Instagram!

Chelsea is a highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professional with an impressive array of qualifications. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Medical Assistant, and Licensed Aesthetician, Chelsea brings over two decades of experience to her practice, having graduated with honors from each program she undertook.

Specializing in the art of injection for 14 years, Chelsea’s expertise in aesthetics is matched only by her dedication to patient care. Her commitment to excellence is evident in every procedure she performs, ensuring optimal results and patient satisfaction. With Chelsea, you can trust that you’re in expert hands.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Chelsea finds joy in the simple moments of life. Whether cheering on her son at basketball games, exploring nature through hiking, or nurturing her garden, she values time spent with her family and indulging in her passions.

An avid animal lover, Chelsea proudly considers herself the ultimate dog mom to her beloved rescue pup. She has even gone the extra mile to train her furry companion to communicate through dog communication buttons!

As a dedicated native Oregonian, Kristy Aghayan brings a wealth of experience and passion to our medical weight loss program. Graduating with honors from Oregon State University, Kristy’s journey in healthcare began as a registered dietitian at OHSU, where she honed her skills in nutrition and wellness over nine fulfilling years. Driven by a desire to expand her impact, Kristy transitioned to become a Physician Assistant, a role she has embraced for the past twelve years with unwavering commitment and expertise. Her dual expertise in dietetics and clinical practice provides a unique perspective that resonates deeply with our program’s holistic approach to weight management.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Kristy finds fulfillment in her personal life. She’s happily married to the love of her life and shares her joy with two energetic boys and a fluffy Bernese Mountain dog named Boris. Together, they form an active family unit that thrives on outdoor adventures, whether it’s skiing down the slopes, hiking picturesque trails, or cozying up under the stars during camping escapades. Kristy’s zest for life extends to culinary explorations, often found indulging in Portland’s vibrant restaurant scene. With favorites like G-Love and La Pigeon topping her list, she also revels in discovering new wineries, savoring the rich tapestry of flavors the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
